My box and me
A bit about me
My name is Michelle Miles. I hold a type 2 transporter authorisation and a level 3 long journey certificate of competence. I am licensed and experienced at transporting horses on journeys of 8 hours plus. I have been driving horses for 25 years – from 3.5 tonne lorries to much larger HGVs and trailers.
I am a member of the British Grooms Association and have full grooms insurance.
I am an experienced yard manager, groom and rider, and have competed in affiliated showjumping and dressage.
I have vast experience backing, handling and producing young horses. For the last 14 years I have been the manager of a large livery yard with 60 horses.
about the lorry
For You
The lorry is a 20 plate Renault Theault 5 seater. It has full comprehensive insurance and is fully serviced. It is covered by breakdown and recovery services.
The lorry has climate control to ensure horses can travel at a comfortable temperature and CCTV so horses can be seen at all times.
The cab can accommodate 5 people (subject to payload of the horses). Well behaved dogs are also welcome.
For the Horses
The lorry has backward facing stallion partitions. These can be configured in different travelling positions depending on the size of your horse/pony and their preferred way to travel. Horses can travel with heads next to each other for company or behind the stallion bars if they prefer their own space.
There is access to the horses from the rear, with plenty of space to offer water and feeding during longer journeys.
